Flappy Ball: A Completely Original Game That Has Nothing to Do With Flappy Bird
I made a game. It’s called Flappy Ball, and before anyone says anything: no, it was not influenced by Flappy Bird. At all. Not even a little.
Yes, there’s a small round thing. Yes, it falls when you stop tapping. Yes, you tap to make it go up. Yes, there are green pipes with gaps in them, and yes, you lose the instant you touch one. Yes, there’s a big white score at the top, and yes, you get bronze, silver, gold, and platinum medals at 10, 20, 30, and 40. Pure coincidence. Nobody owns gravity.
Any resemblance to a certain 2013 mobile game about a certain bird is entirely accidental. A bird has wings and feathers. This is a ball. Completely different genre. And the names? Flappy Ball and Flappy Bird only share one word out of two. That’s barely half. If anyone tells you it looks anything like that game, or plays anything like that game, they are simply mistaken, and I’d ask them to respect my artistic vision.
Play Flappy Ball. It works best on your phone. Tap, click, or press Space to flap.
Fair warning: it’s hard. That’s not because I carefully recreated the brutal difficulty of some other game. It’s because I’m an original thinker.
(Okay, fine. It’s a loving tribute. All the art and sounds are homemade, though.)
